In a bright NYC loft renovated for a client who loves to host, we preserved the best aspects of the open-plan space by moving and enlarging the kitchen adjacent to the entertaining rooms. Reclaimed oak flooring provides a sense of history and authenticity, complemented by handmade tiles that embrace natural color and textural variations. The earthy mix of greens, blues, and rich bronze give each room a peaceful and unique personality that expand the sense of the space. A home office transitions to a guest room with a Murphy bed that offers a view of the sky for family and friends. The welcoming environment is comfortable both for a crowd or as a respite from the busy city below.
